EcoVadis

Texet Canada again achieves EcoVadis Platinum and is now an absolute leader!

EcoVadis is a globally recognised platform that supports companies in measuring and improving their sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance.

The platform covers over 220 sectors in more than 180 countries.

EcoVadis uses a standardised methodology to evaluate sustainability based on four key pillars.

  • Environment
  • Labour and human rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable procurement

The required documentation was submitted by Texet Workwear Benelux. But you can also benefit from this assessment as a French or German partner, since, among other things, the working practices and policy documents are the same for all our sales locations. Stock items are mainly delivered from our warehouse in Aarschot, which uses an energy-efficient autostore system.

Sustainability, quality and efficiency are a standard for all of us. For example, the development and follow-up of the productions for James Harvest and Printer is controlled from Texet Workwear Benelux, guaranteeing sustainable procurement according to the highest standards.

EcoVadis provides not only an assessment of our current level of sustainability, but also tools and guidelines to make continuous improvements.

Texet Certificates

At Texet Canada, we pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, sustainability and social responsibility. Our certifications attest to our constant efforts to maintain the highest standards in everything we do. We are ISO 9001, ISO 14001, GOTS and EcoVadis certified, which underlines our commitment to quality, the environment and ethics.

ISO 9001: Quality Management

Our ISO 9001 certification attests to our compliance with international standards for quality management systems.

This means that we

  • Provide consistent quality in our products and services.
  • Pursue continuous improvement in all our processes.
  • We are committed to satisfying our customers by meeting their requirements and expectations.

ISO 14001: Environmental Management

ISO 14001 certification confirms our commitment to environmental management and sustainable development. This certification means that we:

  • Systematically identify and reduce environmental impacts.
  • Comply with environmental legal requirements and other relevant obligations.
  • Continually improve our environmental performance through effective environmental management systems.

GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard

Texet Canada is also GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. This certification attests that:

  • Our organic textile products meet the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility.
  • The entire production process, from the harvesting of raw materials to environmentally and socially responsible production and storage, is strictly controlled.
  • Our products are free from harmful substances and chemical residues, ensuring safe and sustainable textile options.

Fair Trade Cotton

Cottover is strongly committed to a sustainable and fair textile industry. The use of fair trade cotton is an essential element of our products.

Fair trade cotton guarantees fair prices for cotton farmers, who can then invest in better living conditions.

The production of fair trade cotton complies with strict environmental standards. This means that fewer harmful pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used, which contributes to a healthier environment and promotes sustainable agricultural practices. Because sustainability and quality go hand in hand.

This certification also guarantees transparency in the supply chain. So you can be sure that the cotton used in our products comes from sources that meet strict social and environmental standards.

Amfori BSCI

New Wave Group is a member of amfori BSCI and BEPI.

It is a very conscious choice to go the extra mile both socially and environmentally.

Membership of Amfori BSCI offers us various benefits that contribute to proper cooperation with the factories where our productions are carried out. Amfori carries out standardized social audits in member factories. These audits assess whether factories comply with the BSCI Code of Conduct, which includes guidelines on working conditions, fair wages, workplace safety and other social standards.

Amfori BSCI follows a continuous improvement approach. This means that factories are not only assessed, but also supported in addressing shortcomings and implementing improvement plans, which helps to proactively address issues and prevent possible negative consequences.

Regular monitoring and reporting ensures greater transparency within our supply chain. This, along with confirming the code of conduct of the factories we work with, is essential to establishing a good partnership.

Amfori BEPI is an initiative that helps companies and factories improve their environmental performance and promote sustainable practices in the supply chain. A wide range of environmental topics are examined, such as energy consumption, water management, waste management and the use of chemicals.

International Accord

For Health and Safety.

New Wave Group has signed the International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry. The original accord – or the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh – came into force in 2013, just weeks after the Rana Plaza disaster, in which a factory building collapsed. New Wave Group signed the accord, which was a legally binding agreement to improve safety in the textile industry in Bangladesh, with a focus on structural, electrical and fire safety. The agreement included that factories would be subject to electrical and building inspections, as well as fire safety training and education.

The original accord evolved into the International Accord, which New Wave Group also signed. In addition to fire and building safety, the international agreement also covers the working environment in general, and the ambition is to extend the programme to other manufacturing countries, hence the name change. The agreement is a unique initiative that has a significant impact on the daily lives of millions of textile workers. We are proud to be part of this initiative

Textile Exchange

Textile Exchange is a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable practices in the textile industry.

The organization works with brands, retailers, and other stakeholders to reduce the environmental and social impact of textile production. It does this by providing knowledge, tools, and resources to support the transition to more sustainable materials and production processes. Textile Exchange is best known for its annual reports and benchmarking analyses that provide insights into the industry's progress on sustainability.

Certificates & Memberships

Global Organic Textile Standard

This is a certification that guarantees the organic status of textiles at all stages of production. From the harvesting of raw materials to environmentally and socially responsible production, GOTS certified fabrics offer a credible guarantee to consumers.

Global Recycled Standard

This is a global standard for products containing recycled materials. This standard verifies the presence and quantity of recycled materials in fabrics and tracks the flow of raw materials from source to finished product. GRS certification only applies to fabrics containing more than 50% recycled fibers.

Oeko-TEX Standard 100

The health mark is awarded to textiles and clothing that have undergone extensive testing for substances that may be harmful to health, for example in the event of allergic reactions. This certificate guarantees that each component of a marked article has been tested for harmful substances and is therefore harmless to human health.
