Social Compliance
Human values in every thread.
At Texet Canada, we attach great importance to social responsibility and ethical business practices. Compliance with social standards is at the heart of our business philosophy and is the driving force behind all our activities. Our goal is to ensure that our entire value chain - from suppliers to end users - meets the highest standards in terms of working conditions, human rights and the environment.

Social compliance, a core value
Our commitment to social compliance is based on strict adherence to international guidelines and standards, such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) guidelines and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure they share and implement the same values, and we conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.
Texet Canada is committed to continuously improving its processes and making them transparent. We believe that our commitment to social compliance not only contributes to a fair and just world, but also to the growth and success of our business. Together with our partners and stakeholders, we continue to work towards a sustainable future in which respect for people and the environment is central.

The Code of Conduct
The amfori BSCI Code of Conduct (COC) guides our work in social and environmental sustainability, focusing on our supply chain.
Factories sign this Code of Conduct before the start of the collaboration.
Important principles include no child labor, decent working hours with fair pay, ethical business practices, health and safety in the workplace, no forced labor, no discrimination, and protection of young workers. In addition, fair trade and environmental protection in compliance with applicable environmental laws are also principles that are monitored.
Principles that we consider extremely important for improving social working conditions.
Thanks to the BSCI, we can establish a long-term relationship with the factories and actively work on the action points.
The principles and values that amfori uses in BSCI are also a standard for us at Texet Canada in our daily activities, both towards factory employees, partners and our own employees.

Social compliance in our supply chain
Thanks to our cooperation with amfori BSCI, we have an overview of the human and environmental component in the factories.
All factories we work with are subject to a risk analysis. To do this, we carry out a risk classification.
Countries at risk are assessed by amfori based on their governance indicators via the World Governance Indicator (WGI).
We carry out the necessary research (due diligence) to identify potential risks and implement strategies for a correct and adequate cooperation. Once all this is clearly defined, the onboarding can begin.
We use the COC of amfori BSCI, but during onboarding we also ask you to sign our Restricted Substance List (RSL) to ensure the use of the right materials when dyeing textiles (+ updates if necessary). The supplier manual must be read and signed before starting, as it clearly states what we expect from each other.
Internal CSR staff in our purchasing offices perform quality checks on productions, but also on social and environmental aspects.
Third-party audits are also carried out at all times to verify that standards are met.
Training and improvement programs are implemented based on the improvement points to ensure continued positive progress on social and environmental challenges.
